My Favorite Comfort Foods/Treats
- Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese and Saltine Crackers broken up into the soup
- Macaroni and Cheese - I love all different kinds but the ultimate is how my mom used to make it served up with stewed sweet tomatoes.
- Pizza
- Chicken Wings
- STUFFING (as in Thanksgiving stuffing my mom used to make)
- Mashed potatoes (I miss my mother's mashed potatoes - usually every Thanksgiving here in the south we get Sweet Potato Casserole and I'm not complaining but I miss my mom's mashed potatoes, complete with her homemade gravy!)
- Sweet Potato Casserole (it can be candied or with lots of pecans and I still love it)
- Pumpkin Pie
- Apple Pie with Vanilla ice cream
- Apple Butter on toast (or straight from the jar, seriously I eat this stuff like it's Apple sauce)
- Pot Roast with carrots, potatoes, onions etc.
- Prime Rib (huge slab, from my favorite place back home - The Flamming Pit)
- Pasta... Pasta... and more Pasta!

I am a transplant to the South like you! I miss real apple cider and hot donuts this time of year. You just can't find that down here. I enjoyed seeing your comfort food list and thanks for stopping by earlier today. Glad you had a nice visit with your Dad. Mine is coming for a visit this coming weekend.
Oh how fun - visits from dad are always the best! It's nice to meet another transplant as well. Don't get me started on cider I love it!!! :)
Oh girl, I hope you get to feeling better asap! You really can't beat the tomato soup/grilled cheese combo though! That almost always makes me feel better : ) Be sure and get lots of fluids and plenty of rest! I'll say a little prayer for your speedy recovery tonight : )
Aw thank you Leslie! ox
Just found your blog and love it!
I adore grilled cheese and tomato soup together! Sometimes I like to make them "gourmet" by adding onions, tomatoes, fresh basil and any other spices we have lying around. I like to make hot paninis too... Macraoni and cheese is definitely a favorite as well, I have a recipe for this delicious broccoli cheddar chicken macaroni and cheese which is to die for. Also, pasta casserole, there is nothing like hot saucy cheese goodness! lastly, cheese fondue, seriously! takes five minutes to make, you can use anything in the house as dippers (we like to do chicken, bread, apples and veggies like carrots, asapagus and broccoli)
Jen - I'm so glad you found me I'm heading over to your blog in one minute! I love doctoring up grilled cheese to make it feel fancy! Basil is a weakness of mine.
I'm happy you're following me! ox
